Client:
My Role:
- UX Designer, with focus on Product Design
- Information Architect
- Web Designer
- User Researcher
- Copywriter for ad campaigns
- Branding Strategist
Action
- Conducted Business Model Canvas workshop with CEO, President and 3 other employees
- Conducted user research
- Produced mid-fidelity layouts and web designs
Pain points
- Sales team fails to respond to volume of leads and customers who prefer to call to order tropical hardwoods instead of using its website
- No fixed pricing on wholesale orders
- Homeowners find it hard to understand how to order the hardwoods for their project
Solutions
- Designed an e-commerce website with project ideas as focal point but side by side with suggested and customer-chosen hardwoods.
- Suggested a chat/SMS system that offers pricing breakdown options (with a calculator) with a link to How-to videos for first-time hardwood buyers
- Include Package deal options on site as well as retail products
